Marriage Certificate

Rwanda Diplomatic Mission in the Sudan welcomes Rwandans  nationals who wish to celebrate their civil marriage in accordance with Rwandan marriage Law.  The Mission issues a legally recognised marriage certificates as those issued by the office of registrar of the Government of Rwanda.

Process and Requirements:

An appointment is required to give notice of marriage in the consular services office in person or by Phone call on telephone +249923306048,+249124343642 to make an appointment.

The Bridegroom and Bride must both attend at consular services office in person to give their Notice of Marriage to declare that they are legally free to get married within 21 days before the proposed date of Marriage.

Passport or National Identinty as proof of the nationality, either one or both of the parties of the proposed marriage must be of Rwandan national with an appropriate VISA or a Residence Permit from the authority of the government of Sudan. 

Both  must be adult (21 years old or beyond).

Payment Slip that proves  applicant has paid in 10 USD for civil marriage service charges in Blue Nile Masherq Bank at account Number 67974417

Both must  provide attestation de celibat. If either of the two have been married before, will need to provide original final divorce papers bearing the court’s original stamp. If divorce papers are not in Kinyarwanda or English, you must provide a translation in addition to the original documents.

If either of the two former spouse died, a certificate of their death must be produced. If your name does not appear anywhere on that death certificate, then the officer will require to see your previous marriage certificate to confirm your relationship to the deceased. Other documents may also be required depending on your circumstances.
On the day of the wedding, you will need to bring with you at least two other people who are prepared to witness the ceremony and sign to that effect.  For further information about Civil Marrage click here.
